Terry O'Brien - Director Terry 's directorial career started by working with many of Hollywood's cutting edge animation production companies that were creating visual effects work for commercials. The client list included the likes of Proctor & Gamble, Sears, Nissan, Canon Cameras, and Paramount Pictures. Then in 1984 he turned to broadcast graphics work, directing a major portion of the 1984/85 season promotion campaign for CBS Television through Teitzell Film. Continuing to do work for CBS, only now through California Film, he directed the prototypes of the 1987 CBS News custom affiliate ID's and also directed the prototype stage of the new on-air look for CBS News. During this time, Terry directed four pieces of animation for HBO, all of which won national awards. Somewhere during all this he found time to do some graphics and effects work for the first season of "Max Headroom". Terry departed Hollywood to join the optical department at Industrial Light and Magic. While there, he worked on five major motion pictures, including "Back to the Future II" and "Indiana Jones III". When an opportunity arose to produce a graphics package for Disney Television Terry formed Animation & Effects to create the models, photography and graphic animation required to fulfill Disney's needs. Terry has worked exclusively through Animation & Effects ever since. |

Kathleen Swain - Director Kathleen Swain is a director with a background in production design for feature film and commercials. She is one of those rare directors who can design the look of a production and create paintings to visualize the project so that clients and the production team are on the same wavelength. Kathleen began her career working on animated features as a background artist at Walt Disney Studios in 1979. While employed there she painted backgrounds for the animated feature "The Fox and the Hound". Other Disney credits include pre-production paintings for "Tron" and matte paintings for various films shown at EPCOT center. She left Disney to freelance as an artist and art director. In 1988 she joined Industrial Light & Magic to do concept designs for the Disney EPCOT simulator ride "Body Wars". She stayed to work on other ILM projects such as "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade", "Ghostbusters II" and "Joe vs. the Volcano". Other credits include work on Disney's "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", Shelley Duvall's "Faire Tale Theater", Steven Spielberg's "Amazing Stories", and many commercials. |
